The Shoreline Community College I-BEST NAC program is a one quarter, 15 credit intensive job training program designed to prepare primarily limited English proficient student for immediate entry into the health care profession while at the same time providing a clear pathway for preparation for health care positions requiring more extensive preparation. The program consists of 160 hours of didactic lecture classes that integrate ESL and basic skills, 32 hours of nursing skills laboratory, and 63 hours of clinical externship experience. In addition the program also includes 55 hours of supplemental ESL/Basic Skills designed to review and reinforce the medical terminology, math, and writing skills required of the core program.
